YKK AP Attends 13th Annual Women in Manufacturing SUMMIT 2023
This September, YKK AP America attended the 13th Annual Women in Manufacturing SUMMIT 2023 in San Diego, Calif. Led by vice president of organizational excellence, Patrys Wiid, a team of 10 employees participated in the three-day conference.
The SUMMIT brought together more than 1,700 manufacturing professionals from across the country to hear inspiring keynote addresses, participate in professional development sessions, visit leading manufacturing facilities, and connect with peers through networking events.
“As an organization, we are committed to building a better society through architectural products. It’s incredible events like this one that inspire a spirit of curiosity and exploration to help our team do just that,” said Wiid. “The SUMMIT gave us the perfect opportunity to connect with and learn from other women in the manufacturing industry in an effort to grow in our everyday life and work.”
The SUMMIT included presentations from Boeing, Siemens Corporation, Clorox, and American Crane and Equipment. Breakout sessions covered a wide range of topics, from diversity, equity and inclusion to leadership, technology/innovation, and workforce development.
WiM is the only national trade association dedicated to year-round support for women in the manufacturing sector.
