AIA Atlanta Announces 2017 High School Student Design Competition

ATLANTA, March 13, 2017 — AIA Atlanta, with presenting sponsor YKK AP America Inc., announces the 12th Annual High School Student Design Competition (HSSDC).

The competition aims to engage students in the design process and educate them about the possibilities of careers in architecture. HSSDC features beginner and advanced levels to
accommodate varying levels of experience. “YKK AP is pleased to support AIA Atlanta in such an inspiring initiative that gives high school students an engaging and fun platform to develop their design skills and showcase their talent,” said President Oliver Stepe. “We continue to be amazed at the level of technical and creative skill displayed in the competition as many of these students will go on to shape the future of architecture.”

Winners will be revealed on April 11, during the annual HSSDC award ceremony at the Georgia Tech College of Design. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the advanced level will receive scholarships in the amounts of $2,000, $1,000 and $500, respectively.
