Post Oak Elementary School brings distinctive openings and durable entrances to a new learning environment
Completed in August 2026, Post Oak Elementary School in Edmond, Oklahoma, opened its doors for the new school year. The newest addition to Edmond Public Schools provides a place for students to learn and grow, with its opening celebrated at a community ribbon cutting ceremony.
Installed by The Glass Specialists, Inc., of Oklahoma City, YKK AP’s curtain wall, storefront and entrance systems serve different needs throughout the building. Together, they support the school’s architectural design and the demands of daily use.
The curved openings are a distinctive feature of the project, incorporating YKK AP’s YCW 750 OG curtain wall in a 6-inch depth. These openings bring visual interest to the building and highlight the role of the framing within its design.
Elsewhere on the exterior, YES 45 TU center-glazed storefronts complement the curtain wall. Inside, YES 45 FI center-glazed storefronts with glazing pocket reducers accommodate the interior glazing, extending the use of YKK AP framing systems throughout the school.
YKK AP’s 50M Monumental Wide Stile Doors provide durable entrances suited to the frequent traffic of a school environment. The Monumental series is designed for high-traffic applications, making it a practical fit for students, teachers and staff moving through the building each day.
A Black Anodized finish provides a consistent appearance across the installed systems. At Post Oak Elementary School, the combination of curtain wall, exterior and interior storefronts, and monumental doors brings together distinctive architectural details and practical solutions for everyday school use.
