About BETTERBILLET™
BetterBillet™ is YKK AP’s exclusive low-carbon aluminum billet, developed to reduce embodied carbon at the source. Proudly manufactured in-house at our Dublin, Georgia facility, BetterBillet™ combines renewable energy sourced raw material with a minimum of 30% recycled aluminum content to deliver a more sustainable aluminum extrusion input. Further strenghtening “Better”, our in-house production gives us exceptional visibility and control over every element that goes into our billet — giving architects, engineers, and contractors greater confidence in both sustainability and structural integrity.
BetterBillet is used in all of our aluminum-based products. Because starting with Better is the right thing to do.

why choose better?
LEED® Silver certified Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts & Sciences in Lubbock, TX demonstrates how lower-carbon material inputs contribute to measurable sustainability outcomes. Through energy-efficient systems and responsible material sourcing, projects incorporating BetterBillet™ reduce embodied carbon while maintaining structural performance and aesthetic quality.
MATERIAL INTEGRITY
Aluminum production carries a significant environmental footprint. Reducing embodied carbon starts with rethinking upstream material choices.
BetterBillet™ reflects YKK AP’s commitment to responsible material selection and manufacturing control. By producing billets in-house and sourcing aluminum from lower-carbon producers, we reduce environmental impact at the earliest stage of the extrusion process.
Because billet is the foundational material in every aluminum profile, starting with a lower-carbon input creates measurable downstream benefits across curtain wall, storefront, entrance, and window systems.
Our BetterBillet™ is made with a combination of low-carbon aluminum and a minimum of 30% recycled scrap.
By prioritizing renewable energy, we reduce the carbon footprint of aluminum extrusions throughout a building’s life cycle.
We melt and cast our billets in-house, ensuring color consistency and material strength through a tightly controlled alloy mix.
.
BetterBillet™ is proudly manufactured in the USA for greater material control and supply chain reliability.
