Immersive online experience offers global access to the history, ideas and innovations behind YKK AP’s architectural products business

ATLANTA (Sept. 10, 2026) — YKK AP America today announced the launch of a new digital tour of the YKK AP Technology Museum, giving visitors around the world online access to the history of YKK AP’s architectural products business. Powered by Matterport, the immersive experience is available here.

Located in Kurobe, Japan, the museum brings more than half a century of architectural innovation and monozukuri, the Japanese philosophy of craftsmanship and continuous improvement, to life through a 360-degree interactive experience. Visitors can explore at their own pace and see how engineering, trial and error, manufacturing expertise and a commitment to quality have shaped YKK AP’s approach to windows, doors, curtain wall systems and facade technologies. 

The tour also introduces visitors to the people and principles behind that progress, including YKK  founder Tadao Yoshida and his brother Hisamasa, who is credited with founding YKK AP and whose leadership helped establish a culture of trust, continuous improvement and respect. Exhibits highlight YKK AP’s contributions to building performance, product testing and standards development, manufacturing innovation and environmental responsibility.
