The Harrison Station of the PATH train system is a much-needed modernization of a previously 80-year-old station that services the New York and New Jersey area. The new station is the first of 4 new head houses that will vastly improve the traveler experience by offering new weather protected entrances, enhanced facade security, improved way-finding and access. Erie was extensively involved alongside the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to deliver a customized adaption of Erie’s ENVIRO|FACADES® Carrier system to suit the facade’s blast resistance requirements and other performance characteristics. The segmented geometry of the main curtain wall coupled by the outward lean and skylight features required precision planning and detailing to execute.
