Avoid crowds and large gatherings
The more people you come into contact with and the longer an interaction lasts, the greater the risk of exposure to COVID-19. It’s important stay home as much as possible and limit gatherings to help minimize risk.

COVID-19 spreads easily from person to person. Even people who may not show symptoms can potentially and unknowingly infect others. That’s why until the vaccine is widely administered, taking the necessary precautions to protect yourself, your family and the public are more important than ever.

While it is important to limit gathering in-person, it is also important to stay connected. Use technology to join family and friends for a visit or a game night. Sending letters, making phone calls or hosting a virtual book club are other good ways remain connected.

The more people you have close contact with, the more likely you are to be exposed to COVID-19. That’s why you should stay 6 feet apart from people that live outside your home. Avoid crowds and indoor spaces as much as possible (especially spaces that aren’t well ventilated) so that you can maintain a safe social distance.
Hand washing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick. Tip: wash with soap and water for 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place or hand sanitizer if soap and water aren’t available.
COVID-19 vaccination is a safe way to build immunity to the virus. The vaccine works by creating an antibody (immune system) response without having to get the illness. By getting vaccinated and continuing to practice these other measures, you are helping to protect yourself and those around you.
