YKK AP America expands its enerGfacade® product line with the addition of its YCW 750 XT curtain wall system and YES 45 XT storefront system for the commercial building market. With their XT designation, the two products offer a superior grade of thermal performance for storefront and curtain wall applications. The enerGfacade product line improves insulation and increases resistance to energy loss across the entire building façade, while exceeding the industry’s most stringent green standards, including ASHRAE 189.1.

Energy Saving Curtain Wall with Multiple Glazing Options

YCW 750 XT yields best-in-class thermal performance and exceeds not only current codes, but also exceeds the most stringent green building codes and standards in the market today. This 2-1/2" sightline outside glazed curtain wall system utilizes MegaTherm^® technology with structural polyamide struts (in 3 widths) that accommodate standard 1" glazing units as well as advanced glazing options such as triple glazing and suspended film technology.

To ensure long-term structural integrity, the dead load of the insulating glass rests on integrated structural supports, diverting this load away from the thermal barriers. Product Benefits/Performance

MegaTherm XT Entrances > Energy Saving Swing Doors

Best in Class Thermal Performance

Architects seeking LEED certification can enhance a project's energy conservation by specifying YKK AP's new high-performance MegaTherm^® XT thermal entrances. A Model 35XT Entrance has a U-factor of 0.52 (UCOG = 0.29). Testing has also been conducted with advanced glazing to achieve a U-factor of 0.44, exceptional performance for an architectural aluminum entrance.

To save energy, all aspects of the doors, including the frames and thresholds, are thermally broken by YKK AP's MegaTherm polymer, which separates the interior and exterior extrusions by more than 0.270 inches to reduce energy flow. Thermal entrances feature foam polymer inserts and dual perimeter air seals for superior performance over standard entrances.

Thermal entrances are available in medium stile, Model 35XT, and wide stile, Model 50XT, configurations. A wide selection of hardware options for hinges, locks, closers, mid-rails, and bottom rails are available. Framing solutions integrate into most YKK AP systems utilizing MegaTherm or ThermaBond Plus^® thermal breaks. Door corners are mechanically joined/welded and carry a lifetime warranty.
